Why use Goodyear radial tires?

In 1965, Goodyear tires launched Radial-ply Goodyear car tire. Vector, the third generation all-season radial Goodyear tires were introduced in 1984.

Lot of research went into Radial tires to provide better contact and grip. The wide tire is designed to provide better riding comfort. 25 different kinds of rubber, chemicals, carbon black, antioxidants, pigments, bead wire, cord fabric etc go into the manufacture of radial tires. The ingredients are mixed under high temperature and pressure and blended together into a gummy compound that is milled to make the tire.

Goodyear tires make many radial tires. We will touch upon two models here:

One of the widely used Goodyear tires in Radial segment is Goodyear Eagle F1 tire (GS-D3). This max performance radial was developed in Goodyear’s European’s facilities and marketed worldwide for use on sports cars and performance sedans.

Goodyear eagle f1 tire uses a tread compound called AAtrax. This is molded into their OneTred directional tread design. Hence the eagle f1 takes advantage of AAtrax to enable eagle f1 tire to earn the highest “AA” Uniform Tire Quality Grade wet traction rating. Goodyear's OneTRED defines three distinct tread design patterns. The center zone is designed to provide constant road contact. Goodyear also uses “virtual rib technology” to enhance steering response and dry road cornering traction. On either side of the center contact zone, aqua channel grooves angle forward and out to the edges of the tread. These long grooves avoid air and water getting trapped between the tire and the road.

Twin high-tensile steel belts are reinforced with spirally wound nylon are used inside. This enables the tire to distribute the vehicle's load across the tire's footprint.

All these features together make Goodyear eagle f1 tires to offer high speed durability & stability.

Goodyear has another radial tire built for specific use with trailers, campers, boat trailers and fifth wheel trailers used for hauling. The Goodyear Marathon Radial tires are not to be used with passenger cars and light trucks.

Marathon Radial tires are available in 80- and 75-series, Load Range B (35 psi), Load Range C (50 psi) or Load Range D (65 psi) ST-metric sizes for 13" through 16" wheel diameters.

Now you find radial tires for all kind makes and models of the automobiles. When you buy a car, check the tires. If you are buying discount Goodyear tire, do not mix radial and bias-ply tires on the same axle. Ask the car dealer or Goodyear tire dealer to suggest you the model that suits your automobile.
