Tire Problems Vibration for 1996 Range Rover
Symptoms:
This 96 Range Rover would shake at the front when you hit the bumps or
rough road surfaces especially when travelling between the speeds of
50-55 mph. If you keep on driving, sometimes the shake would go away.
A front-end alignment job was done at a local garage in our town and
most suspension parts like center link, steering damper and steering
gearbox were checked but found to be OK. Any help will be appreciated.
Tire Problem Advisor:
The suspension for this vehicle is controlled by electronically monitored
air spring system called electronic air suspension (EAS) to control vehicle
weight and height. The air springs are located at both front and rear wheels.
The control unit of this system is located at the left front seat. If the
above tire rotation will not fix it, bring the vehicle to an authorized
Range Rover dealer. They can scan the fault codes for this to see if the
electronic steering system is OK.
Notes:
Above repair is only a recommendation and you do this at your own risk. Always have your vehicle align after replacing the tires to prevent
repetition of the problem.
When in doubt, bring your vehicle to authorized Land Rover dealer shop to make sure your tire problem is fixed.
