Tire Problem Vibration for 99 Honda Passport when hitting bumps
Symptoms:
Please help! My 99 Honda Passport has a very rough vibration that
occurs all the time at highway speeds. I have the front-end alignmet checked
for alignment and nothing was found to be defective. Anyways, I went
ahead to have a new set of tires put on but still the problem remains
the same. What should I do?
Tire Problem Advisor:
The best way to verify if the alignment is done properly is to take
it to another alignment shop and have it checked there again. This
way, you can get a second opinion if the first finding is correct.
Also… when you do this, ask them if the tires and wheels are
dynamically balanced.
Notes:
Sometimes, the equipment used by front-end garages is not routinely
calibrated contributing to the erratic readings when performing the
alignment. That is why from time to time, you should try having a
second garage to check it for you to confirm if the readings are
the same.
When in doubt, bring your vehicle to an authorized Toyota dealer shop.
Above repair is only a recommendation and you do this at your own risk.
Always have your vehicle align after replacing the tires to prevent
repetition of the tire problem.
