Before you buy your discount tires, you have to know your tire
basics to have a better use of your tires.
When
you are buying a new car, you don’t think of discount tires.
You tend to drive more in the new car and the tires wear out
earlier than other parts. The wear of the tire depends on your
driving habits. If you drive at higher speeds and brake heavily,
the tires are going to wear sooner than expected. You may think
of discount tires when your car has become a bit older.
You safety depends on the tires. Hence you need to think carefully once you decide to change the tires. Discount tires are a good option as you need not pay those fancy original prices.
You
need to analyze the need to replace a tire. Generally, it is
advised to rotate the tires. If your vehicle is a regular vehicle
(not a front wheel drive or rear 4-wheel drive vehicle), you
can rotate the front tire mutually with rear tires. But you
can not switch between front tires. Hence if you want to buy
only one tire, buying one of those discount tires is a tricky
one.
In any kind of natural driving only one tire never gets worn out. One tire may become unusable only incase of some extraordinary situation and there must be lot of remaining tread depth. Other tires also must be having the similar tread depth. Hence, keeping safety in mind you may have to buy a tire of same brand, line, size and speed rating. And if you are getting the same at a discount tires shop, just pick it up.
If you have not rotated tires, you will notice that a pair of rear tires or the pair of front tires is worn out depending on the type of vehicle, i.e., front wheel drive or rear wheel drive). In this situation, you may notice that two tires have lot of remaining tread and you need to replace two which are worn out. In that case you ca find discount tires that are as close as possible to matching your other two tires. Ensure that these discount tires are of the same size and type and need not be from the same manufacturer. If you buy new tires, install them on the rear axle.
